ASG-RD 2020 opening with SQL errors

Hello, we have a shared SQL environment where ASGRD database is located. ASG-RD 2020 is installed on a separate server. The application was working fine for around 2 months, but now when it is opened, there are a few SQL  Error dialog boxes displayed. Simply clicking OK through them does allow the application to open and it seems to function just fine. Curious if anyone knows about the dialog boxes? Kind of odd that it just started happening out of the blue.

SQL DB server is Windows 2016 running SQL Server 2016 (SP2-CU11-GDR)
ASG-RD application server is Windows 2012R2 running ASG-RD 2020 Patch 2

We were running ASG-RD 2016 Patch 2 for the longest time and just recently upgraded to ASG-RD 2020 Patch 1 and went through the normal DB migration process. The application was running fine and then about a month ago we started to see the SQL errors upon running. So just a couple of days ago I updated to Patch 2, but the SQL errors still come up.

Chrome not shown under HTTP/S

Hello everyone.

Q1:  In the Tools->HTTP/S settings, there is a dropdown that has Chromium, IE, and Firefox.  For some reason Chrome is missing.  Do I have to enter the in manually somewhere?

Q2:  I have many pieces of hardware... some old, some new, but they all have a web interface.  The problem is that the older ones only work with IE11, and I have some that will work only in HTML-5 compatible browsers.  Is there a way to make each connection use the browser of choice?  I would really like it to be in the tabs.  If not, I can do an external app setting, but then I lose the tab feature.  Fortunately there are only a few that need IE11...

Fehlermeldung bei der Verbindung über LAPS

Hallo,

in der ASG 2020 Version gibt es jetzt die Möglichkeit sich über LAPS an Clients anzumelden.
Leider funktioniert das in unserer Umgebung nicht. Die Fehlermeldung im Anhang kommt bei allen Clients.

Kann damit jemand etwas anfangen?

Move SQL database?

Hello, 
I would like to move the database sat behind ASGRD 2018 to a new server.  I know how to move the db 
but not how to configure ASGRD to connect to the new db.  

Also, going from SQL2014 to SQL2017 - any issues there?

When you analyze for objects that are in recursion - and Objects that have no valid parent - It would be nice to know what objects the errors are referring to.. .
is there a way to get that info?

Citrix Client Connection

I have a most annoying customer who insists on Citrix jump server access.


I have to build connection through portal with key client (RSA) and then it allows me to download ICA file to launch.

I have tried to open it in text editor to pull it apart for connection IP / port / etc... but it does not connect and not seeing much in way of errors / logs to guide.


questions:
1) Is their VisionApp RD guide for "citrix" that I can read up on how to work with it
2) Is their an Import of ICA feature 
3) Is their a means to just call the ICA file to use RD tab / frame

Request for improved AD Sync behavior

Hello ASG Support,

Could we get AD Sync behavior enhanced to be able to handle "/" and  "\" symbols in the names of AD OUs. Currently, ASG errors when it finds AD OUs with these symbols and produces an error message and halts until a user clicks [OK].

This is frustrating. 

If these symbols cannot be included, 

Could the AD Sync not halt and demand user intervention?
     Maybe a check box to ignore all errors
     Maybe a check box to send all errors to a log file be made available after the sync completes, so I could work towards identifying these and correcting them?

I recently reset my computer and tried to re-import the license file. However I now receive the following error message:

"Error on verify the license data"

ASG2020 - Anmeldeinformationen

Guten Tag
 
Wir haben ein Problem mit dem Vererbungssystem der Anmeldeinformationen bei unserm ASG2020.
 
Wir haben einen Überordner P01, einige Unterordner P01_...  und anschließend mehrere Connections.
 
Nun würden wir gerne die Persönliche Anmeldeinformation auf P01 setzen, so dass alle unterstehenden Connections die Information bekommen.
 
Leider geben die Unterordner P01_...  die Informationen nicht weiter. Somit bekommen die Connections keine Anmeldeinformationen.  Sad

Im Anhang ist eine Word Datei, in dem das Problem noch mit Bildern erklärt wird.

Ich hoffe ich konnte es Verständlich erklären.

gibt es die Möglichkeit bei RDP Verbindungsobjekten den Login zu hinterlegen?
So das wir nicht bei jeder Verbindung die Anmeldeinformationen auswählen müssen.

SQL permission & Security Audit

Hi, everybody,
I write here on behalf of my company because it is conducting a security audit on internal systems, in particular I am in charge of managing sql server so I have to ask technical questions to the team regarding the software ASG Remote Desktop.

Currently our ASG-Remote Desktop installation connects to the sql server with a sql login that is db_owner of the application's db.

These are the questions I have to ask you:
- What are the minimum sql grants that the application needs to operate properly? (is the db_owner role of the application's db enough?)
- Does the application need sysadmin rights to operate correctly?
- The application uses the account sa?
- Which owner should have the applications's dbs?
- Does the application use the CLR Integration Assemblies functionality? If no, can we disable it?

Webbrowser Frame Support?

Hallo Zusammen!

Ich habe diese Frage zwar schon so halber im Rahmen von einer PreSales Anfrage gestellt, hier möchte ich sie aber nochmals ganz offiziell posten um evtl. gleich von @DevOma eine Antwort zu bekommen...  Big Grin

Wir haben sehr viele HPE Server wo wir die ILO Management Websiten ebenfalls verwalten würden.
Das Problem? Sie verwenden blöderweise für die Authentifizierung ein eigener iFrame...  Sad Exclamation

Interessanterweise kann ASGRD dies sauber auslesen.

ABER... Es funktioniert trotzdem nicht mit der Übergabe der Credentials. Selbstverständlich funktioniert es jedoch wenn ich die Website DIREKT auf dem iFrame öffne... ABER... dann lädt die ContentView des Managementinterfaces nicht.  Rolleyes

Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn:
Gehen diese "acquired fields" nicht weil zwar im ASGRD Quellcode die Funktionen "vorprogrammiert" sind aber nicht 100%ig umgesetzt sind oder geht es effektiv evtl. um ein Bug?

Refresh the current environment to detect new connections?

I am trying to add a new connection to ASG-RD 2020 and then connect to it.  I am using a remote MS SQL server to hold the database.  Below are the PowerShell commands that I'm using to create the connection ending with the final command to actually cause the running instance of ASG-RD to connect to the server.

Code:
$vm = Get-VM 'my-server'
Connect-RDEnvironment -Environment ASGRD -PassThrough
$fldrGUID = Get-RDBaseItemId -ItemPath "Connections\Servers"
$obj = New-RDBaseItem -ParentItemId $fldrGUID -ItemType Connection -Text $vm.name
Set-RDPropertiesConnection -ItemId $obj.ItemId -Protocol RDP -IpAddress $(Get-VMGuest $vm).IPAddress[0]
& 'C:\Program Files\ASG-Remote Desktop 2020 (X64)\ASGRD.exe' -connect:$vm.name

The problem is that the -connect command line fails as the running instance does not notice that the new connection has been created until it is specifically refreshed using the icon on the menu bar.  The Status Message log indicates the connection isn't found.  After the refresh the last command can be run again and it works as expected.

Can anyone see a way to make this work without needing to do anything within the application?  -open and -find equally don't refresh anything.

Perhaps I'm missing something and there is some other way to achieve this?  What are other people doing?

Dies ist wahrscheinlich mehr ein Feature Request, ausser es gibt eine Hidden Option die wir nicht gefunden haben:

Wäre es möglich in einer künftigen Version auch MouseOver Feedback und File Download zu implementieren?

MouseOver Feedback:
Wir haben unsere AntiSpam Appliance in ASGRD integriert. Funktioniert gut aber wenn wir z.B. auf ein Link mit der Maus gehen gibt es keine "Statusleiste" unten die eingeblendet wird und zeigt WO dieser Link effektiv zeigt.

File Download:
Betrifft in unserem Falle auch wieder die AntiSpam Appliance. Manchmal müssen wir Anhänge aus der Quarantäne herunterladen um zu prüfen ob es legitime Anhänge sind oder ob es sich um Malware handelt.

Wäre cool wenn sowas machbar wäre... ;-)

IE Zertifikatfehler ignorieren möglich?

Hallo Zusammen

Sorry, ich weiss, dass dieses Problem resp. ein ähnliches Problem schon (mindestens) einmal geposted wurde:

Besteht das Problem mit IE effektiv immer noch?

Weil es kommt immer diese Fehlermeldung (siehe pic) und angeblich nützt die Option "Ignore certificate warnings" da nichts.

Interessanterweise kann man über ASGRD auch nicht "Webseite trotzdem laden (nicht empfohlen)" klicken weil dieser Link nicht erscheint. Wenn man direkt via IE drauf geht hingegen schon. 
Also scheint es irgendwie am von ASGRD instanzierte IE liegen...

Leider gibt es effektiv immer noch einige Management Websiten die nur 100%ig mit IE Kompatibel sind weil sie .NET Objekte verwenden die in Chrome und FF nicht gehen... :-/

Any ideas? Workarounds?

AD Server Sync bei verschobenen Objekten geht nicht

Hallo Zusammen!

Wir haben ein Phänomen entdeckt im Zusammenhang mit AD Sync.

So ist es bei uns eingestellt:

Im Prinzip sync'en wir alle Serverobjekte "flach".
Wir haben uns eine schöne Struktur direkt in ASGRD erstellt (welche nicht die AD Struktur reflektiert) und haben dann entsprechend die gesync'ten Serverobjekte direkt in ASGRD verschoben.

Soweit so gut.

Das Problem?
Die Einstellung "Delete if object does not exist" oder "Set delete icon if object does not exist" funktioniert leider nur, wenn das Objekt im Rootverzeichnis ist, wo wir der FlatSync absetzen.
Sobald die Objekte verschoben werden findet diese Bereinigung leider nicht mehr statt. Das heisst, ASGRD parst die Unterordner nicht um zu schauen ob das AD Objekt mit der entsprechenden ObjectSid sonst wo noch vorhanden ist.
Er schaut wirklich nur im "FlatSync Rootordner".

Handelt es sich hier um ein Bug oder fehlt diese Funktion (noch Big Grin )? 
Ich meinte (bin aber nicht mehr 100%ig sicher Rolleyes ), dass ich diese Funktionalität im Patch2 (Evaluationsphase) getestet hatte...

Unresponsive ASG

Hi, we use ASG-RemoteDesktop 2020 version 13.0.6768.1 on about 20 windows 10 desktops
Many times a day ASG becomes unresponsive and the only solution is to start it again.
Some teammembers have it several times a day and others have it every few days, but we all have this problem.

Is there anything we can do about this problem?

Anmeldeinformationen Speichern

Hallo Zusammen

Wenn wir eine Anmeldeeinstellung im ASG auf einem Notebook (NB1) erstellen, und man sich mit dem gleichem Account im ASG bei einem anderen Notebook (NB2) anmeldet, 
werden die Anmeldeeinstellungen leider nicht übernommen.

ASG-RD PowerShell Module issue

Hi,

I need some advice regarding the PowerShell Module.

I need the change the "Destination (the connection)" on some Virtual Machines using the PowerShell Module.
However, I cannot retrieve all the "childpaths" by using the module, and therefore not get all the virtual machine that runs in the child folders.
Imagine this structure.

Folder1
- folder 2
  - folder 3
     - vm1
     - vm2

-folder 4
 -vm 2

I need to get all the VM's ind the Folder1 (and in the subfolders aswell). How to I achieve this?
