how to change font size in SSH connection

Hello all.

I hope I wasn't lame in searching the documentation or stupid in using the product menu.  Feel free to tell me if I was !
I tried forum search also to no avail.

I simply would like to change the font size (and maybe the font) that is used in an SSH connection. 

I like to use my eyeglasses for important stuff like reading food labels or instructions.  I would rather not wear them to write code.

Thanks in advance for your help in finding this seemingly trivial answer/solution.

Some offline mode questions

Hi
We recently had a network issue which caused the DB to be unreachable. When this happened some of us were able to continue working offline, these people got this message :

However, some others could not open ASGRD at all getting this message:

So here are my questions :
1. Which option is the one that offers offline data and how do I make sure I have an offline copy? or, if I want, how do I make sure there IS NO offline data saved?
2. How are things saved offline? Are passwords saved on my local machine? Are they encrypted?
3. Is there a way to deploy options like saving offline data to all clients using ASGRD in my network? Can I centrally manage the clients somehow?

No RDP Options

Hi,

A teammate and I both have ASG Remote Desktop 2019, installed from the same source.  When he goes to Edit, Properties, he has an RDP option.  I have no RDP option at all.  

Under Connections, I just have Folder, with General, Display, Pre-/Post-App, and Roles.  No RDP section at all.  I need to be able to use a smart card with my connections.   What am I missing?

Error launching Tool after upgrade

Hi, I upgraded from version 2015 to 2020. I may have 2019 installed as well. I uninstalled all previous versions and installed version 2020. When I launch it asks for password for data file, that I don't remember, then throws an unhandled exception. Is there a way to do a fresh install? I have a back rde export. Below is exception detail from eventviewer:

Password protection removed after first import of .rde File

Hello

I made an export as .rde File with password protection.

When I import this file for the first time, I have to enter the password.
If me or another user imports the file again there is no passwort promp, it gets imported directly.

I see, that the .rde file gets modified and increased in size (from 2.8 MB to 3.5 MB)

Tested with ASG 2020 x64 6667.1 and 6768.1

How to solve this issue?

Forms authentication for RDS RDWeb

I am trying to get Forms authentication for RDWeb website working, but the %password% content will not populate in the 'UserPass' field; it seems to be some particular protection on the password of the credential as I can populate with other stuff - is there some option for allowing this?

Search automatic expanding folders option

Hi,

In the following thread https://forum.asg-rd.com/showthread.php?...3#pid51893 they asked to auto expand the folders when searching. Is it possible to make this auto expansion as an option in ASG RemoteDesktop? With a lot of enviroments this auto expansion is very annoying as everything auto expands.

Disable update check

Hey,

We are running ASG Remote Desktop 2019 x64, and wants to disable the "Check for updates" for the entire system.
Ive found this post about how to do it for version 2015, but i cant seem to get it working, for the 2019 version.

Search

Database locks

We are running ASG RemoteDesktop 2020 patch 3 and getting errors about cleaning up the logs when starting ASG (a couple of co-workers are still on 2019 and get the same error). Further investigation tells us that there are locks on the database. Eventually most of the time ASG will open but not always, it just stays in this loop and clicking Ok will just result in a new message.

Is there a fix for this?

Extension KeyPass wirkungslos

Hallo zusammen

Ich habe der Anleitung folgend die Erweiterung für KeyPass aktiviert. Nach dem darauf folgenden Neustart von RD erschein die angekündigte zusätzliche Kategorie unter Anmeldeeinstellungen leider nicht.
Kann da jemand helfen oder einen Tipp geben? Ich setze die Version 2020-07-01 / x64 ein.

Bereits ausgeführte Massnahmen:
Erweiterung inaktiv gesetzt und dann nochmals aktiviert
Neustart des Systems

Cannot connect using Azure AD account

I recently joined a computer to Azure AD and tried to establish a connection using the user’s Office 365 credentials, however it’s saying “the logon attempt failed”. I was able to create a custom RDP file which worked after I added the following parameters:
 
enablecredsspsupport:i:0
authentication level:i:2
 
Is there any way I can add these parameters to my connection in ASG? Is the ability to use an Azure AD account to login not supported?

RDE Import not identical to Master PC

Hi, I used the software for several years only on one Windows 10 PC ... no I have a second device (Laptop) and I only make changes on the PC. Some weeks ago I created a rde backup and imported it for the first time on the Laptop ... no problems ...now after some weeks and changes I did another rde backup and imported it again with the default settings but unfortunately some connections which I deleted on the PC still exist after the import ... how can do an import which will be identical to 100% to the PC?

Is there a way no script this procedure?

Anmeldeeinstellungen Probleme

Hallo zusammen,
 
wir arbeiten gemeinsam in einem kleinen Team und kümmern uns um eine Vielzahl an Servern.
Wir nutzen ASG RD mit Datenbankzugriff für die Serververwaltung und den persönlichen Einstellungen für die Benutzer.
Informationen zur Version: ASG-RemoteDesktop 2017 10.0.5564.0 (Update auf die aktuelle 2020 ist in Bearbeitung)
Zuletzt haben wir immer wieder mal das Problem gehabt, dass die hinterlegten Anmeldeeinstellungen keine Wirkung mehr gezeigt haben und diese neu gesetzt werden mussten. Mittlerweile kommt es bei mir fast täglich vor.
 
Die genutzten Anmeldeeinstellungen sind für jeden Benutzer persönlich.
 
Unsere Ordner- und Serverstruktur sieht folgendermaßen aus (diese Struktur kommt im Verbindungen Vaum mehrfach vor):
<Tier1_Ordner_Domäne>
  <Tier2_Ordner_1..5>
  <Server_1..x>
    <Tier3_Ordner>
    <Server_1..x>
    </Tier3_Ordner>
  </Tier2_Ordner _1..5>

Bisher wurden die Anmeldeeinstellungen auf den jeweiligen Tier 1 Ordnern teilweise in den Standard Daten oder zuletzt in den Persönliche Daten gesetzt. Stellenweise auch mal schnell auf dem Server direkt da Zugriff dringend benötigt war.

Wie könnte man hier einen Reset durchführen, damit die Anmeldeeinstellungen von Grund auf nochmal gesetzt werden können?

Wie sollten wir im Team die personalisierten (privaten) Anmeldeeinstellungen setzen? (Sind die gezeigten Schritte in den Screenshots korrekt?)
 
Für einen Teil der Probleme habe ich mal Screenshots erstellt.
Erklärung zu den Bildern:
01 Tier 1 Ordnereigenschaften clear
02 Setzen der Anmeldeeinstellung im Tier 1 Ordner
03 Anmeldeeinstellung im Tier 1 Ordner gesetzt

Authentication error with Server 2019

I just installed the first instance of Windows Server 2019 here and immediately noticed that ASG remote desktop cannot RDP into that server.
Microsoft's RDP client works absolutely fine, no errors.

ASG gives this error:

authentication error 0x80004005

I am running ASG 2019
Version: 12.0.6504.1

I believe a new version of ASG is available but I cannot upgrade, yet. The management here is in the process of renewing the license.

'Shift' key doesnt work

I've recently moved onto a new Win10 machine with asg installed. Everything looks good. Only issue I have is that the 'shift' key doesnt work.

I have to cut n paste passwords etc into the rdp session - is there anything I cna do for this ?

I just switched to the 2020 version. I can no longer connect in RDP on servers requiring NLA. If I turn off on the server, I can. Is there another solution?

VNC - Vererbung wird nicht unterbrochen

Hallo,

ich habe ein Problem beim Unterbrechen der Vererbung für ein einzelnes Objekt im Bereich VNC.
Wir müssen für einen einzelnen Server den VNC-Port ändern von 5901 (Default, vererbet über die übergeordnete Gruppe "Connections") auf 5900. Diese Änderung kommt bei den Kollegen aber nicht an.
Bei der Recherche ist mir aufgefallen, dass scheinbar die Daten nicht im Reiter "Default values" gespeichert werden (s. Screenshot "Connection Properties - Vererbung unterbrochen.jpg").
Mit dem selben Objekt habe ich die Vererbung für RDP unterbrochen, dies führte zum Erfolg (s. Screenshot "Connection Properties - Erwartetes Verhalten.jpg").

Ist dies ein Bug? Oder für VNC normal?

Lost Admin rights

Hi, somehow I've lost the admin rights to give other users permissions on folders, (public) credentials and connections
I also can't see the security groups anymore.
Is there a way to reenable those security rights?
I do have full access to the SQL server and tables...

ASG-RD System requirements

Unser DB Admins möchten die ASG Db von einem SQL Server 2017 nach 2019 verschieben.

Ich habe versucht herauszufinden, welche SQL Version ASG-RD unterstützt Es ist nicht einfach diese Infos zu finden. Wenn man sie dann hat , sind diese leider noch widersprüchlich.
Bei vielen Firmen findet man solche Informationen in der Installationsanleitung. Die konnte leider ich nicht finden.
Oft werden solche Information auch in den Release Notes angegeben. Bei ASG werden dort "nur" die behobenen Problem oder neuen Funktionen aufgeführt.
Habe dann unter asg Products Remote Desktop ein Datasheet gefunden. Diese sagt, dass SQL Server 2019 unterstützt ist. Dort steht aber nicht für welche ASG-RD Version das Datasheet gilt.
Bei uns ist  ASG-RD 2020 - Patch3 (Build 13.0.6768.1). Habe dort im Help einen Abschnitt mit System requirements gefunden: Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition, version 2005, 2008 / 2008 R2, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017

Was gilt den nun?

Es wäre auch hilfreich, wenn in den Releas Notes die System Requirements aufgeführt wären.
