End of Life Dates for ASG-RD Versions

Would it be possible to get a list of End of Life dates for the versions of ASG-RD in terms of when support is discontinued? We're collecting as much information on support start and end dates for all software and I'm not finding where each version's support ends or has ended. Thanks!

multi-edit connections

Hello,

I am currently using ASG 2019.

While the default connection protocol was set to RDP, a lot of servers were added, but I actually need them to use SSH instead.

I have set the default protocol to SSH already, but I can't find a way to edit/change all those entries at once.
Is there any way to accomplish that?

Manage Licenses and Downloads

How do you gain access to manage licenses and downloads?  I am a current ASG Remote Desktop customer.

https://www.asg.com/en/Support.aspx

I had a laptop failure and need to retrieve my license file (2020).  The only license file I currently have is from the year before (2019).

Upgrade from 2019 to 2020 and lost all my connections

I installed ASG 2020, but I still have ASG 2019 installed. It updated my roaming to have a 13.0 profile and I still have a 12.0 profile. However, the 12.0 profile looks to have been stripped of the files except for settings.xml, and now when I open ASG 2019 all my connections are gone. 2020 has no connections in it either. Any way I can get my connections back?

Thanks for any insight!

I re-created the 12.0 folder and copied the 13.0 files back in and this appears to have got my 2019 working correctly again. Now, i will export everything and import it into 2020.

No access to ASG Environment after RDE Import from different domain

We have ASG working great in one of our domains running ASG RD 2020 Patch 1 with SQL Server Express. I did the same install on a different domain but with Patch 2. By the way, I don't think the issue is between Patch 1 and Patch 2 but I'm pointing out the details.

I did an rde export with every box checked and password protected. I imported the rde into the other domain installation. After exiting and adding additional users in SSMS to the database as sysadmin, I can now no longer login to that environment. I was getting the message that user does not have permissions and then it would show the user and the identifier. No one can gain access..

I looked through the forums and the only thing I noticed that might help was the SQL command on https://forum.asg-rd.com/showthread.php?tid=10858 as it's even referenced in multiple posts. I ran the SQL command and can gain access now but I can't seem to setup users or security groups now in the application.

Could you let me know what might have went wrong and how I can fix this issue? Could it be that the import cannot be from a different domain or differences in windows login usernames (username/admin vs. username)?

Extended shortcut availability slows down every input

Hi ASG guys,

It seems like I'm not the first one that has issues with the feature "Extended shortcut availability".
I actually wanna use it, so I would prefer to not turn it off.

Is there no way at all to fix the issue from the ASG-RD side?
What would be the easiest way to find the other tool that interferes with the "Extended shortcut availability" feature?

Thanks,
AP

Problem with Keyboard input

I'm running ASG-RemoteDesktop 2020 64bit on Windows 10 Enterprise.

Every know and then I have the issue that I'll have to close ASG because suddenly the @ Key (Alt Gr + 2) won't work anymore when I'm working otherwise.
As soon I close ASG everything is back to normal.

Strange is that it somehow only happens after a while using ASG. I'm not 100% sure but it usually recurs after having my notebook in sleep/hibernation mode.

I have reinstalled my notebook a few time for other reasons........this behavior with the suddenly non-working @ key pops up again and again though.
Keyboard Layout: Swiss German (QUERTZ)
Windows Display Language: English (United States)

Anyone else seen such behavior?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi,

the right click menu on an object takes on average 10 seconds to open.
we noticed this since the Thycotic integration which increased the number of credentials objects by +-4000.

is there a way we can speed this up?

ASG Hangs from time to time

Hi,

we keep seeing the client application hanging now and again, it sorts itself out after a while but this is starting to get a bit annoying Smile
If we do some changes to our connection structure or just connect to something the client applications randomly hangs, it can take 1-2 minutes before we get an error message.
Usually we get a 'PropertiesSet' error dialogue (I'll paste a screencap when I see it next time).

My initial suspicion is that since we're running the database on a server that is not in the same network as our workstations and we're working mostly from home, this might be in part responsible for this issue. But it's been like this for quite a while.
It almost looks like we loose connection to the database for some reason. I cannot find any errors on the database servers though.

Any ideas on how to improve the reliability around this ? We're running ASG 2018 - 11.0.6104.1 at the moment.

Thanks! Smile

Hi i have one user that have problems viewing any connections on his locally installed ASGRD but when he launches ASGRD from citrix it works great.
both the local and the citrix version is the same version of ASGRD 2020 patch2 (13.0.6721.1)
he uses the same user in both enviroments and its the same settings.

When i view the group "assigned security group" (super feature by the way) i can see that he don't have the "User" Security group.
that is the reason that he cant see any connections. but why is this and how can i solve it. he have restarted his PC and i have checked that he is in the AD-Group that gives him access to the asg-securitygroup "Users" (in AD i have nested several ad groups)

Variables in Executable path

Hi

New to this remote desktop but trying to set it up for use with cyber ark.

I can get it to work no problem but if I want to create an export file my whole team can use, anyone found a good way to make the export more dynamic.

So for instance in the executable path I have

psm /u x78448v-r@company.local /a %NAME% /c PSM-RDP

So great that the host name will be picked up - however someone would have to still go through the import and change the " x78448v-r@company.local" to there own account.  Is there anyway to make this dynamic??

Cheers

HTTP/S Connection (Chromium) Crashes ASRD 2020.2

Hello

I'm having an issue with the latest version of ASGRD 2020 (13.0.6721.1).  I don't know if it happens in previous versions as I have not tried setting this up before.

I have several HTTP/S connections configured.  When using the Chromium browswerControl, it crashes ASGRD.  When using Firefox/Gecko, I often just get a blank, black window where the browser should be.  So this leaves me with IE, which is not ideal for most of the connections.  Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas how to fix or work around the problem?

This happens whether I have 'none' or 'forms' authentication.  I have tried deleting and re-creating the connection.

Environment is a Win 2012R2 terminal server (Citrix) with SQL DB hosted on another server.

Thanks
Steve

Ideen?

Danke schon mal

Beim VerbiServer does not support diffie-hellman-group1-sha1 for keyexchangendungsaufbau mit einem Debian Server bekomme ich von ASG immer die Meldung:
Server does not support diffie-hellman-group1-sha1 for keyexchange

HTTP/S Connect-As Doesn't Work (Forms Auth)

Hello

When using an HTTP/S connection, I find that the right-click -> Connect as... -> (select credential) does not work for me.  In my situation, I have already specified a credential in the Personal Values for the connection.  This is the credential which I want to use 90% of the time.  Occassionally, I need to connect with another credential.  If I right-click and select the other credential, the web page form is completed using the wrong credentials.  (It still uses the credentials from the personal values).

I'm assuming this is a bug but maybe not.

Is there a way to have a "preferred" credential configured in the connection but still use 'Connect as...' option when needed?

Thanks
Steve

I have installed the 30-day evaluation of ASG 2020.  How can I activate the Active Directory / security groups?  Currently I am the only person who can authenticate, since I was the one who installed it.

RD Gateway pro Verbindung definieren

Hallo liebes Forum,

LG, Maximilian

Hello, my company released LDAPS guide.
It supplied a website for certificate download.
And supplied test environment DC address for application test.

Should i download the certificate and configure into my ASG RD 2018?
And do a test?
Thanks.
