Hi

Over a year ago we bought a country license, the subscription has thus ended and I asked my company to buy a Subsription Renewal. I have received a new license file but I'm wondering if they did what I asked or ordered a new Country license including a One Year Subscription... Is there a way for me to verify this? Or can you verify if I'm holding two Country licenses now?

I'm looking for screenshots, help, examples, anything to figure out how to connect this to my AWS instances.  I can rdp with the MS RDP client, however ASG 2016 will not connect.  I get a 

error is attached.  

I do get a Return Code 516.  

If anyone has any help that would be great.

File based environment
Windows Server 2012R2
Domain joined with NON ADMIN user

I'm trying to sync connections based on servers in a specific OU in a domain which my machine is NOT joined to (I finally succeeded but still have some questions/suggestions)

- In Tools - Settings - Environment - Domains
  I added a domain supplying domain name, username and password (I don't like saving passwords but seems I do not have the option to NOT store it here)

I created a new connection folder, added role Active Directory and tried to setup a sync.
Source Type: OU

On selecting the source it showed the domain I'm joined to as well as the added 'Untrusted' domain. This is good but the fact that the first domain shown is expanded pushed the other
one 'out of sight' (I won't write here how long it took me to find out the domain I was looking for was already there :-) ).

So suggestion would be (if possible): don't expand the domain(s) in the 'select an OU' window.

Because I assumed (yeah I know) that providing the credentials for the 'Untrusted domain' would be used for syncing too (they seem to be used for selecting the OU) I set 'Credentials' to
'None'.
Unfortunately this makes the sync fail.

Next step I selected my - already present - credential for the 'Untrusted domain' (NOT the one in Settings but the one under 'Credentials').
As I wrote before I don't like to save passwords (especially not those of important admin accounts) so all my Credential objects are setup with 'Always prompt for password'.
Seems this makes the sync go wrong too with a 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' error.

Suggestions:
- make it possible to use a Credential without saved password
- and/or use the already stored credentials for 'Untrusted domain'
- change the error message to something pointing in the right direction (need to say the log is a little more clear but still...)

Finally, perhaps better documentation around this useful feature (syncing, multiple domains) would be helpful. That said, I might not have searched well enough.

Question: am I missing something obvious here? Is it already possible to use sync without storing passwords (in multiple places)?
BTW: I use manual syncing. I don't care yet about automating that part.

I'm currently running ASGRD15 and demoing 2017. I'm trying to set up a sync from a specific OU in Active Directory in a new folder. I've specified the OU and domain admin credentials to use to scan the OU, but when I attempt the sync I get an error, "Error reading from active directory. Sync aborted. Object reference not set to an instance of an object." 

I did some poking around on the error, but no luck figuring out why I'm getting it.

Hi


I just received the mail about 2017 ASG and upgraded. That went fine but when I launch it, it prompts me to add a new environment.
 
I tried adding the config file from my older version (settings.xml) and that error'd.
 
what file should I be using?

I am running ASG-RD 2017. This only seems to happen with the new Windows 10 Creators Update (1703).

I am connecting via RDP to many different versions of Windows Server. When my mouse pointer moves over a textbox or a field containing text, the pointer/cursor disappears.

Anyone else see this happening?

I was just upgraded to the latest version of windows 10 via windows update.  Since that update, ASG 2015 Patch 11 I am getting the following error on all connections over RDP.


WARNING: The remote computer 'COMPUTERNAME' requires Network Level Authentication, which your computer does not support.

Using MSTSC.exe the connections are connecting just fine.  It's a problem with ASG2015.

Please advise.

Hi,
We currently have ASG-RD 2017 running on a server with the local SQL express DB.  Our clients are pointing to this server.
I'd like to move the ASG-RD DB to our full blown SQL Server 2014 version that runs all our other DBs.
I cannot find a way to export the data from the express version and import it to the SQL 2014 server.
Can someone help with this please?

ich versuche eine CSV Datei zu importieren

Format wie folgt

XXXXX.Subdom.domaene.de;xxx.xxxx.xxx.xxx;;;SSH;22


Ich habe keine Spaltenüberschriften eingefügt, habe mehrere Datensätze und nur einen probiert.

Das ASG sagt auch immer das es erfolgreich war leider taucht im Ordner nie ein System auf.

ASG mit elevated oder normal hat auch keine Änderung gebracht.
Der Import in eine lokale Datei ging auch nicht also ohne SQL Connection
vom ASG ist der akuellste latest SQL Release installiert auf einem Windows 2012 R2 RDS Host

Hallo zusammen, wir haben folgendes Problem, das die Favoriten seit dem Update zu 2017 verschwunden sind bei den Benutzern.
Ansonsten ist alles da.

Benutzer ist der identische.
SQL Datenbank wurde gesichert und als neue zurückgespielt. Es wird in beiden Fällen die Portable Version benutzt.

9.0.5385.0 (ASG-RD 2016 Patch4)
10.0.5564.0 (ASG-RD 2017)

Hat jemand eine Erklärung dafür oder ein ähnliches Problem?

I need to uncheck the parameter for "Smart Sizing" which is located under "Experience" in the default connection properties. I know how to change it manually in the application but I need to be able to change it automated. I thought there may be a file, where all the parameters are saved, or something like that.

I searched everywhere in the AppData, ProgramData and the Registry but i can't find a way to set it like this. Does anybody know where to find that? Is there some kind of Database?

I'm using ASG-RemoteDesktop 2016.

Hi,

OS: Windows 10 Enterprise
ASG-RemoteDesktop 2015: Version 8.0.5034.1

After Update from 1607 to 1703 Enterprise Version i get the following Warning

Warning
The remote Computer 'DES0500' requires Network Level Authentication, which is not enabled in the rdp Connection properties.

If i connect directly with mstsc, the connection is working fine

By the way, in 1607 there was no Problem...

Any ideas?

Hi!

We are currently using ASG-RD 2016 with a database.
We want to upgrade to 2017.
I've already seen, that a database upgrade is necessary for 2017...
Question now is, whether the db version 2017 is downwards compatible to 2016 or not?

If not, what would be the best approach to migrate?
Side-by-side with a copied database for 2017?
We're having many administrative workstations running ASG-RD, so a one-shot upgrade for all
is more or less impossible....

I got my script for creating objects in ASG working in an 32bit powershell, with help for this tread:

But I really need to integrate my script into another 64bit powershell script. So I thought that I could start a 32bit session from within 64bit powershell and work around it that way.

Heres my code:

It's the "not running in UserInteractive" part that puzzels me. I tried defining the username and password instead of the -PassThrough option, but still gets the same error.
As I said, when running the script in 32bit powershell, it works and the is no "UserInteractive" like a popup or anything..
Any ideas ?

We are unable to connect to our asg-remote desktop 2017 from outside the windows server hosting the application. We keep getting the following error:

connection could not be established. A connection to your current environment could not be established. Please select another one.






We are able to RDP to the Windows Server hosting the ASG application and we are able to connect without getting any errors. 


Are there any settings we need to make sure are enabled in the Windows Firewall to allow the connection from the portable version from outside the server itself?

Wir haben ASG RD von 2012 auf 2017 mittels Assistenten "Migration von 2012er Umgebung" (Datenbankversion) aktualisiert.

Nun stellen wir zwischen den ASG-Usern bei den Anmeldeeinstellungen der RDP-Einträge unterschiedliche Vererbungsformen fest.
Es wird "Standard Daten" mit User "Kein" angezeigt, obwohl "Vererbte Daten" festgelegt wäre.
Mein User, mit dem die Migration durchgeführt wurde, zeigt die richtige Einstellung (Vererbte Daten) an, aber die anderen User haben den Modus "Standard Daten".

Der Optimierer wurde bereits ausgeführt.
Ein erneutes Setzen des Modus auf "Vererbt" und das Entfernen von Standard Daten & Persönlicher Daten hat leider auch nicht geholfen.

Hi,

I am upgrading from VisionApp Remote Desktop 2011 to ASG-RD 2017.  I have done the 2011 to 2012 database upgrade.  I am now doing the 2012 to 2017 database upgrade.  Everything works fine until it gets to the point of upgrading error log data.  It then throws the below error:

Hi,
how can i build an external application to connect to a remote Windows Server via powershell?

with the powershell command:

Enter-PSSession -computername servername -credential domain\user  you can connect to a remote server

In external Application I try :
Dateiname: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe
Arbeitsverzeichnis:

Argumente: Enter-PSSession -Computername %computername% -credential domain\user

and no option

When i Connect to a server i can type my Credentials but then the Powershell windows Closed

I seem to be missing the option to export my password via plain text.  Running the latest 2017 version with an XML database.
