Printer Redirect not working

When I connect to a Remote Desktop I do not get all my printers redirected. If I connect to another RD, I get some of my other printers redirected. Exclamation
If I use Windows standard MSTSC - all of my printers are redirected.

Migrate Userdata to other Domain

Hello Forum

We need to migrate the ASG-RD 2015 DB to a different Domain.
The User-Accounts in the new Domain are migrated with the SID-History but the Personal Login Credentials are not able to use.


Is there any possibility to migrate the Personal Login Credentials from one User to another?

ASG authentication SQL - Domain and non domain enviroment

I currently have a single license for ASG, I am looking to roll this out to our global support user base.
 
I have setup a MS SQL server and a database.
 
I can connect to the database fine from a domain machine. Our support team use virtual machines to connect to customer sites, these VM's are not domain for security purposes. 

The ASG pop up box for authentication appears on these machines. I am unable to use domain\user, domain is set as the workgroup which I cannot change.
 
Please can you help me try to resolve this?

"Your credentials did not work"

Hello,

I know that VisionApp uses the underlying RDP client where it is installed.  We are more and more not able to use saved credentials in VisionApp, some servers it works, some it does not.  The above error is what I get when I connect to such a server using the RDP client.

I have tried the local GPO solution described here: (for example)

There are many articles on this.  The solution has no effect for me, either this is not the issue or I am doing it wrong.

These are on machines in the same domain as the workstation that I am on, so it is not a trust relationship issue.  I am using the FQDN not the IP address.

I have seen the other solution of installing the certificate, I have not tried that.  I am wondering if that means I would need a certificate for each of the 1,000 or so servers I have, or one certificate for them all?

I am using the 2011 version of VisionApp, and I considering upgrading, but before I do, I would like to understand what this problem is, and if the new version offers any help with it.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Vision App 2011 -> ASG remote desktop 2016, need license file?

Hello,

I am trying to eval ASG remote desktop 2016, and I want to import my data from the VisionApp 2011 that I would be upgrading from.

As I understand it, I would first need to go to 2012 and upgrade the database, so that it is in a format that can be read by the 2016 version.

But, when I try to do the database upgrade in 2012, it is asking for a license file.

Is there a way I can get an eval license file so that I can try this?

Automatically refresh objects

Hello,


I would like to know if automatically refresh objects in "Navigation" pane and "Find items" menu.

The last version seems to be solve this issue but when I update object, this one can't updated once I force resfreshing with F5 or "Reload".

Fixes 
- Refresh with active filter text will refresh navigation tree with current filter

Have you already have this issue on the latest version?

Using ssh connections with putty, got scaled characters for terminal

Hi folks,

I have installed Version 2016 P4 and I have the problem connecting with ssh (putty) regarding the characters used. Changing window size the characters get scaled in or out. Behavior in putty itself is normal. This is indifferent what font I use in putty. Always the same behavior. What can I do to keep size unchanged?

Loosing settings

Running ASGRD on a W2K12R2 RDS server.

Our non-ASGRD-admins (regular users) are having issues with loosing some ASGRD settings from time to time.

  • Quick connect: dialog sometimes doesn´t popup when clicked in toolbar. Tools - Reset Layout has to be run to fix this.
  • Quick connect: personal settings are sometimes reset to default settings. E.g. Display is set to full screen view.
  • Default connection properties: E.g. the selection in Disk drives sometimes disappears "overnight".
When closing the application and reopening it, it looks ok, but it seems like if they are logged on to a different server (maybe?) the setting is lost. 

So my question is, where are these personal setting saved, in the database or on a settings file somewhere?


Any idea?

Hi ASG-RD Support,

would it be possible to also add the "White-spaces" Feature which has been implemented to the QuickConncet Function in ASG-RD2016 Patch 4 to the search function?

Taken from the Patch 4 Release Notes:
QuickConnect: White-spaces are allowed in server name - all leading and trailing white-spaces will be removed automatically - white-spaces can be used split server names that all will be connected with given Parameter

Losing Notification Window

When I have my laptop in Presentation Mode and I reboot a machine that is open in AGS-RD 2016 it would normally come up with a popup window about the lost connections, but when in presentation mode the window does not appear and ASG-RD has the wait icon and I cannot get back into it, I have to kill the program.

Windows Insider 15002 Breaks RD again

Was updated last night to 15002 on the Fast Track and found I was unable to RDP to anything via ASG. I did try to replace the mstscax.dll like in the past, but no go. Running ASG 2016 9.0.5385.0. Using windows MSTSC to RDP works just fine. Experience in ASG - select RDP session and it immediately closes (no warnings, errors, notifications).

Hallo zusammen,

leider habe ich bisher vergeblich nach einer Übersicht gesucht die sich auf die Kompatibilität zwischen ASG Remote (VisionApp) und der darunter liegenden SQL Version bezieht.

In meinem Fall geht es darum zu prüfen, ob die aktuelle Version von ASG Remote eine "Mindestversion" des SQL voraussetzt.
Gibt es hierzu eine offizielle Aussage? Ich möchte vor meiner Installation ausschließen eine veraltete Version zu installieren um alles noch mal machen zu müssen Smile

Goto double click does not work anymore

Hi

we are still using version 2012 and want to update to 2016. we did a test upgrade and now found out, the "Goto" from the search box is not working with a double click anymore. Right-click + Goto works, but this is a bit cumbersome and adds additional time to jump from connection to connection.

How can we enable Goto-double-click again in version 9.0.5385.0??

Lost rights after installation on W2012 server

We are using ASG 2016 on 2 W2008 R2 servers without any problems.
Yesterday I installed ASG2016 on a W2012 server and for all the users including myself most options are greyed out:

Environment - all options except Exit
Edit - all options except Refresh and Properties
Administration - Default connection properties and Quick Connect
Tools - securtiy groups

How can I solve this?

Always "connecting"

My OS is windows 8.1, ASG-RD 2016 works fine in the past. 

But  these days when I connect my server via RDP, it always "connecting". 

And, when I try to exit the application, I found the main window was closed, but the process still in memory.

What's happen?

PS: I can connect my server use other application.

Logging der Sessions

Hallo zusammen

Wir nutzen ASG-RD 2016 (9.0.5306.0) um damit verschiedene Kundensysteme zu administrieren. Dank dem Verbindungsprotokoll kann man ja nachvollziehen wer wann auf welchem System war.
Gibt es noch eine Möglichkeit mit der ich bei dem Starten einer Sitzung noch einen Kommentar oder eine Bemerkung angeben muss warum ich mich mit dem System verbinde?

HTTP/S Protokoll Skript Fehler

Habe eine neue Verbindung mit http://Servername erstellt. Beim öffnen kommt immer eine Scriptfehlermeldung.
Wenn eine Externe App erstellt wird mit dem IE und Parameter http://Servername klappt alles einwandfrei.

Welche Einstellung muss ich vorhnehmen um diesen Bug zu beheben?

Environment lost everytime i restart ASG-Remote Desktop

This started yesterday, and i have not been able to find the root of the problem.

Everytime i start ASG-Remote Desktop i have to setup the environment again. I connect to a MSSQL. Once i connect to the DB , it works fine, but as soon as i close ASG-Remote Desktop and start it again. i have to configure the connection again.

Any Idea why this is happening, or some pointers to find the root of the problem?
