Recent Credentials and Favorite CRedentials

We have hundreds of credentials.

We would very much welcome a feature to "Connect as recent credentials" so we can rightclick a connection (in Navigation or Find) and instead of selecting "Connect As..." and browse all (public) credentials, we can get a list of the X recently used credentials and select one of those instead.

The recently used credentials is also handy in the Quick Connect when you use the custom credentials feature.

Suggestion: Browse credentials

When you have many hundreds of credentials organized into folders, and you use the "Connect to..." context menu to select a credential, it is very tedious to browse them via the rightclick menu as you can't type the first letter to "jump ahead" or use pagedown, you have to patiently wait till it scrolls (slowly) down.

I think it might be difficult to implement an easier navigation within the context-menu (?), so maybe you could consider an option in the "Connect as..." menu called "Browse credentials" that displays a popup where you can browse the credentials like in the Navigation pane, so you can type-and-jump (fx type c to jump to the one that starts with c) and type a filterword to filter the list entirely.

That would be great!

Window position not being remembered

Hi there,

I'm having an issue where the window size/position of my main window is not being remembered when I launch the program.  I'm using ASG-RD 2016, but I had the same behavior with ASG-RD 2015 as well.

What's interesting is that when I close ASG-RD, it DOES write the window size and position for both the login window and the main window to C:\Users\gsmid\AppData\Roaming\ASG-RemoteDesktop\9.0\profile.xml. When I launch ASG-RD, profile.xml gets accessed once (confirmed with Process Monitor), and the login window is the correct size and position. After I click the 'Login' button, profile.xml does not get accessed and the main window just goes where it always goes - to a seemingly arbitrary spot on my screen.

ASG-RD - 9.0.5312.1
OS - Windows 10 Enterprise (with Anniversary Update)
Multi-monitor (three monitors)

Any suggestions?

Drive redirection mit Citrix

Hallo,

ich verwende ASG 2015 auf einem 2012R2 Server. Ich hab das Problem dass die lokalen drives mit Citrix nicht in die RDP Session gemountet werden. Im VisianApp ist unter RDP und ICA alles gesetzt. Sollte also gehen. Weiss wer was ich noch einstellen kann?

Hi,
I am here because ASG replied to me by email to find a solution to my problem. So to all of you the money I spent to renew my support should be depositing in your bank accounts. I have 2016 ASG with many connections that were there from 2015 version. I added a new server I built and can connect to via RDP but when I setup the server in ASG it comes back with the following error message box text.

The Automatic reconnect could not be started because of some invalid input parameter
Input string was not in a correct format

so ASG in response to my I sent to ASG email support gave me a link to the forum so you can tell me what the F*&ck is wrong. Thank you ASG, when my renewal comes up next year, I will remember your response to my problem, again thank you for saving me a renewal fee next year.

Bulk Import of User Credentials via .CSV or text file

Hello,
I'm inquiring to see if there is a way to bulk import User accounts into VisionApp from a file such as a .csv. During my company's onboarding process we need to make hundreds of end-user accounts into VisionApp so we can log into our terminal servers to configure the accounts. This gets tedious and we are looking for a way to bulk import the accounts.

We are running ASG-RemoteDesktop 2015 version: 8.0.5091.0

Hello,

We are currently running ASG Remote Desktop 2012 Patch 8.  We purchased the latest version so we could upgrade.  I believe the latest version is 2016 patch 3.  I need the installation and upgrade instructions.  Will you please direct me to where they are located or send them to me?  I need them ASAP.  Thank you!

Connect with Options... shortcut keys

Is it possible for you to assign shortcut keys for the "Connect with Options..." options, fx so pressing Ctrl while connecting to a connection it will Connect to Console?

Right now you can rightclick and Seletc "Connect with Options..." - "Connect as Console" --- OR --- you can rightclick and "Connect Aa..." - (select a credential).

You can't do both.

Unless you add an extra level of the context menu to each credential in the "Connect As..." menu that gives you the same options as the "Connect with Options..." menu.

Do I make sense?

neue Software keine Verbindung zu alter 2010er Datenbank

Hallo,
wir haben die neuste 2016er Software mit Patch 3 installiert. Vorher nutzen wir die 2010R2 er Version mit externer Datenbank.
Mein Vorgehen war jetzt wie folgt, erst habe ich die Datenbank geclont, dann die neue Software installiert, danach den Patch3.
Die neue Software habe ich mit der geclonten Datenbank mit internem User verbunden und der Verbindungstest ist erfolgreich.

Beim Aufruf der Software ist egal ob ich mit einem Domänen Admin Konto oder mit dem internen Nutzer an die Software gehe. I
ch erhalte immer den Fehler Verbindung konnte nicht hergestellt werden. Bitte wählen Sie eine andere Umgebung aus.
Woran liegt es?

I'm always connected to more than 10 servers and playing with the two small arrows is very annoying.

it would amazing to have two rows (or more) for the tabs.

ASGRD2016 Patch4 Issue

Just launched ASG RD 2016 Patch 3 and was notified of an update. Downloaded update, closed ASG RD, and ran patch 4 update. It says "Data file Damaged, your data file could not be read properly. DO you want to try to use the backup file?" I said Yes and the backup file failed too. I have gone in and looked at the settings.xml and the backup and they are there, but for whatever reason now damaged. Is there anyway to save my environment settings and profile? I do not connect to a database, its a standard file environment.

VisionApp absturzt nach Copy Paste

Hallo,

ich habe sporadisch immer wieder abstürzte vom VisionApp 16 wenn ich etwas in die RDP Session Kopiere (Text). VisionApp friert dann ein und dann geht ca. 30 Sek. nichts mehr.

Kann mir jemand hier helfen

My connected sessions are not there after my pc reboots

Hi
I have ASG rd 2016 and if I have multiple or even 1 session connected to remote servers and my pc reboots because of windows updates  or crashes after the reboot when I launch ASG id does not reconnect to my servers that I was connected to before the reboot.
However if I close ASG with all my sessions and reboot or just launch ASG again all my previous disconnected sessions will get reconnected. Am I missing a setting somewhere? My previous versions worked fine reconnecting after an unscheduled reboot while ASG was running?

I work for a large Aus Gov agency.  We were planning to buy ASG RD and wanted to test out the product.

They don't work. 

I look all over the website for links that do work and can't find any, so I press on and take a look at the forums.  On the forum I find this thread about the latest version of the product, with links to download it:

Custom credentials with docked quick connect w/autohide

When you in Quick Connect use custom credentials (the one you type in using the [...] button) the credential-dropdown changes to "Custom".

If you dock Quick Connect (fx in the lefthand side) without pinning it (so it hides and slides out when you click it), even though you have typed in a custom credential earlier the credential-dropdown says "None" instead of "Custom" when it slides out. This must be a bug?

Feature suggestions for Quick Connect:
- Add a button to reset any settings set in "Use full connection properties" (and maybe shorten the button to just "Connection Properties")
- Add a visible marker when anything has been set in "Use full connection properties"
- Add an extra button to connect without any of the custom settings set in "Use full connection properties", so you have "Connect" and "Connect (custom properties)" (or similar)
- Add dropdown where you can select (or delete) sets of saved Connection Properties (fx "With mapped drives and 256 colors"). These should then be possible to save from the "Use full connection properties" window.
- Add dropdown arrow on the Connect button, so you can "Connect as console" - or just add a checkbox with this option visible when RDP is chosen in Protocol.

Missing:
- When in the Quick Connect Connection Properties the "Custom" credentials chosen on the "main" Quick Connect window doesn't get "inherited" into the properties window (probably because in the "Full Connection properties" you can't select "Custom").

Slow ASG Remote Desktop 2016 - Startup - Take more than 3 minutes.

We have recently preparing to migrate from ASG 2012 to ASG 2016 (9.05312.1).  Our new ASG Remote Desktop 2016 application takes more than 4 minutes to display the menu items & icons (quick launch, etcs). ASG is on the 2008 R2 environment. As shown on the screenshots, the folder structure comes up quickly, but I cannot click on anything until menu items or icons enables after 5 minutes. This issues didnt exit on the older version of ASG.

ASG Folder contains approximately 16,000 items with several nested folders. I've already run the Database Consistency checker and all the tests are shows with Green ticket.

DropDown Menu disappear from toolbar with User Rights

Hello,

in ASG Remote Desktop Versin 2016 9.0.53.12.1  the "Navigation" (world symbol) drop-down menu disappear in the "Administration toolbar" with User rights.
That mean with an admin it works. But with a normal user not.
I tested the software on a Windows 2008 R2 terminal Server as a user with "runas".

Do you have the same behavior?
It seems to be a bug - for me.
