AD import to only select servers

Hi

I wondered if there is a way to import only servers from AD import.
Usually we have both clients and Servers in a domain and when i want to import server object in to ASG, there is no option to choose if i only wants to import servers or clients.

Maybe something to add for new features?

Hello together,

is it possible, to connect to ONE environment on a SQL server with different Windows users?

If have tryed to configure this, but I'm very frustraded to get everytime a differrent environment, when I connect to the database with a different Windows user.

Would be great, when anybody can help me.

Problem with window focus

I'm having an intermittent issue with a missing logon window.  I am using 2019 patch 6 and i have observed this issue on three Windows 10 workstations and on two Windows Server 2019.

The problem occurs when I choose to log in manually (i.e. without a stored credential).  Specifically, in this case, I am using a smartcard, but I'm not sure that the smartcard itself is at issue.  Typically, I choose 'none' for the credential, which usually launches a logon window.  However, in some cases I get no logon window and the main ASG-RD window is unresponsive; I'm assuming the logon window is hidden or behind the main ASG-RD window.  I have to 'End Task' ASG-RD and launch again, sometimes several times, to get the login window.

VMware "Connect to Console"

Has there been any progress on fixing the "Connect to console" functionality with vSphere-synchronized folders?  It is still working flawlessly with the old vSphere 6.0 C# client, but one of our security scanners picked up this client as a security risk because it requires outdated libraries.  I would assume it is a matter of time before we are unable to install/run this client and this functionality would become unavailable in ASG-RD.

ASG-RD 2019 Portable Version lädt Plugins auf DFS Share nicht

Hallo Support,

wir haben das Problem, dass seit wir die Portable Version auf einem DFS Share nutzen diese keine Plugins mehr lädt.
Es hat sich weder der Speicherort (liegt noch auf dem ursprünglichen Fileserver) noch der Laufwerksbuchstabe geändert.

In der Ereignisanzeige taucht folgender Fehler auf:

Migrate from Remote desktop Manager to ASG

, I would like to replace Remote Desktop Manager the product from devolutions with ASG.  I Have a huge list of folders and servers to migrate.  I have tried the export as CSV and import into ASG and my data is not coming over.  Any advice on how we can get this over?  Tried the CSV and other methods and nothing seems to move the data.

You are not allowed to start this external app

When some of my users are trying to run an external app they get a wonderful message: "You are not allowed to start this external app". I thought I gave permissions to them but still it only allows admin users with all the rights to do so. Can you help?

Wie können Anmeldeeinstellungen an externe Applikationen weitergeleitet werden?

Als Dateinamen können wir den Client problemlos starten: "C:\Program Files\Fortinet\SSLVPNcmdline\FortiSSLVPNclient.exe"
Wenn wir die nötigen Parameter in der Zeile Argumente erfassen funktioniert es auch:  "connect -h IPADRESSEToungueORT -u LOGINToungueASSWORD -i"

Nur möchten wir Login und Password nicht im Klartext anzeigen lassen und analog den Verbindungen auf die Anmeldeeinstellungen zurückgreifen.
In den Einstellungen haben wir bei Berechtigungen das Häckchen bei "Kennwörter von öffentl. Anmeldeeinstellungen an Externe Applikationen übergeben" aktiviert.

Wie verknüpfe ich den Programmstart mit dem gültigen Login und Passwort?

Synchronize between two laptops

I have two laptops for work: one at work and one at home.

I'm developing the AM & PM scripts to download the key application configurations in the morning and upload changes in the evening.

I don't find any updated files in the installation directory "C:\Program Files\ASG-Remote Desktop 2019 (X64)".

I do find, for "ASG Remote Desktop 2019", "APPDATA=C:\Users\%User%\AppData\Roaming" so presume that is the key directory structure to synchronize.

However, there is the issue of whether or not I need to perform an evening export (Environment, Export) everything (to the default path: C:\Users\%User%\AppData\Roaming\ASG-RemoteDesktop\export.rde) and then a morning import (Environment, Import).  And is there a way to perform these functions from a script (cmd or PowerShell) to avoid manual steps in the morning and evening scripts?

Has anyone implemented this sort thing before?

I appreciate what you can share!

KeePass Plugin can't be enabled

I'm running ASG-Remote Desktop version 11.06.6964.1
When I try to enable KeePass plugin via Tools > Settings > Extensions and selecting "KeePass 2.x integration" option, after reastarting the application, the plugin option is still disabled.
After 4-5 attempts it is finally working. Hope it won't dissappear agin?

VNC reconnects permanently, when other user is connected

When 2 users are connected via VNC in ASG-RemoteDesktop 2019 to the same client, both get permanent reconnects and it is not possible to work, since one closes his connection.

I haven´t seen this using other vnc client software.
Is this a bug in ASG-RemoteDesktop 2019 Version 12.0.6420.1?

VNC - can Winkey be passed to server?

Hi,

I'm using ASG RD 2019. 
When I connect to a VNC server on a Windows machine and press the Winkey, the operation is performed on the local machine and not on the server. Is there an option to send the Winkey to the VNC server (as in RealVnc "Pass special keys directly to VNC server" option)?

ASG "not responding" every day

In the past couple of months, these new builds of ASG keep crashing. I have installed updates multiple times but it still crashes.
It simply says "not responding". This happens once a day or two. I use a licensed version of ASG in my work place and this problems wastes a lot of my time.
Is there a stable version I could use?

I am running ASG RD 2019 version 12.0.6342.1 on Windows 10 Enterprise 1809 build 17763.973
It is a newer Dell laptop, has Core i7 +16 GB RAM, NVMe SSD and all other apps run perfectly stable on it.

I have tried ASG on another machine also, slightly older but stable. ASG behaves the same way on it...crashes every day or two.

Left hand mouse

Is there a setting in ASG to passthru a right primary button mouse? i have a left handed user that sets right primary button on his W10 machine but when he connects to a Windows server via ASG-RD, it reverts back to left primary button. I know this is an issue with RDP but was wondering if ASG had a setting.

Favorites Bug

I am using build 12.0.6504.1

We have configured permissions on the Favorites folder as follows:
- Administrators (all permissions)
- Everyone Else (only selected Standard (Private Objects) -> Full Control

What we noticed are a few bugs:

  1. When a user (who is part of Everyone Else) creates a new item: he is presented with the option to create the item as Public or Private, despite the fact that seemingly he shouldn't be allowed to create the item as Public. I would have expected the OK button to be grayed out when selecting Public.
  2. He can successfully create the item as Public and it actually appears immediately under the Favorites. Upon refreshing though it disappears and only appears to someone who has Administrator access.
Then I tried giving Everyone as well all permissions. When trying to modify/remove them, they kept appearing (despite the fact that I removed them and clicked OK).

SSH connection error

I use SuperPUTTY today but want to try to use ASG instead. When I try to connect I get this error.

Connection failed: Server does not support diffie-hellman-group1-sha1 for keyexhange

But I have no problem connecting with PUTTY. 

Are there any specific settings needed?

Updating Multiple Credential Passwords

Hi there – I am starting to use ASG and had a question about maintaining credentials.

We change our passwords very frequently and have a large number of domains. Is there anyway to import them from a spreadsheet each month instead of having to manually update each credential within ASG 2016 Remote Desktop?

I saw the CSV and RDE import method but doesn’t seem to cover what I’m trying to do. I would need to be able to import my spreadsheet with username, domain, and password.

Hallöchen,

kurze Frage zum Daten Optimierer.

Ich bin den Daten Optimierer einmal durchgegangen und hatte dort einige Einträge die Korrigiert werden können.

Es wird zwar darauf hingewiesen die Datenbank zu Sichern aber nicht genau erklärt ob in der Zeit User weiter arbeiten dürfen usw...

Daher meine Frage, muss ich beim Daten Optimierer eine Downtime einplanen ?
Ist es Problematisch, wenn während der Optimierung User arbeiten ?

Mein großes Problem ist aktuell ein Wartungsfenster zu finden. Da ASG-RD recht ausgiebig genutzt wird.
Und per Job würde ich es ungern laufen lassen insbesondere beim ersten mal.


Ich wollte es zwar mal mit einer Test DB ausprobieren aber ich nutze die Gunst und frage mal.
Was passiert eigentlich, wenn beim Start von ASG-RD die Datenbank nicht zur Verfügung steht ? Gibt es einen Lokalen Cache oder ist dann erstmal ende?
Was passiert, wenn während ASG-RD geöffnet ist die Datenbank offline geht ? Falls es weiterläuft, was passiert, wenn der User dann auf Verbindungen aktualisieren klickt ?

In der Hilfe habe ich leider nichts passendes zu den Fragen gefunden.
