Upgrade from 2015 to 2018 - one user keeps getting unlinked credentials

Hello,

We recently upgraded from 2015 to 2018 (previous upgrade from 2012) and everything is working 100% for all but one user.

This user is getting his credentials unlinked (credentials is still in ASG RD, but on the connection objects they are unlinked). The most confusing part of this is, that if this user opens ASG RD from another remote desktop server or another PC, everything is 100% again. But after a few days, his credentials on the connection objects go missing again. So I am guessing it is in this users local installation of ASG RD this is happening. We have tried to reinstall the local installation of ASG RD 2018 and reboot of the PC, but no change. The user has set up the link to credentials on all the connection objects, but a few days later they go missing again.

We use a database environment that we connect to and everyone has permission to use credentials. This environment has been running since we first got ASG RD 2012 back in 2013 and we've never seen any issues like this before.

Anyone have any thoughts about how to solve this?

seit heute verbreitet sich auf unseren Windows 8.1 und Windows 10 64bit PCs eine Fehlermeldung:

Die angeforderte Funktion wird nicht unterstützt.

Ursache könnte eine CredSSP Encryption Oracle Remediation sein.

Die Probleme treten seit heute auf, weshalb ich einen möglichen Zusammenhang mit dem Microsoft Patchday sehe. 
Es handelt sich dabei um RDP Verbindungen zu zwei verschiedenen Windows Server 2016. Es sind aber nicht alle Server 2016 des jeweils gleichen Kunden betroffen. Ich kann noch kein konkretes Muster erkennen.

multiple connetions log off

Is there a way to log off a group of servers if they have an RDP connection alive?

I only the see option on the logical folder Administration(Wndows) -- Reboot All and Shutdown All.

ASG RD 2012 upgrade to 2018 fail

Hello, ASG team,
I am upgrading ASG RD 2012 to 2018, with SQL server 2008 to 2016.
Now the upgrade comes to 3rd database, this DB met error after update by "Upgrade of 2012 Environment..."
After upgrade, the menu becomes gray, unable to click. And cannot expand "Connections".
Please give a hand.

wir verwenden derzeit das ASG-Remote 2015 und erwägen ein Upgrade auf ASG-Remote 2018.
An welche Stelle können wir unser Lizenzanfrage ( Country Lizenz ) zur Preisermittlung stellen ? 
Unter https://www.asg.com konnten wir kein entsprechendes Formular, oder Preishinweise finden.

Verbindungen werden gelöscht

Hallo,

wir benutzen die aktuelle 2018er Version von ASGRD. Ich habe folgendes gravierende Problem festgestellt. Ich hatte einen Ordner mit den darin enthaltenen Verbindungen zu meinen Favoriten hinzugefügt. Nun habe ich den Ordner aus meinen Favoriten entfernt und festgestellt, dass die Verbindungen aus der Navigationsstruktur gelöscht wurden. Der Ordner ist noch vorhanden, allerdings ist dieser leer. Habt Ihr hierfür eine Lösung für mich? Vielen Dank im Voraus.

VNC Komponentenprüfung

Kann keine VNC Verbindungen machen.
Bei der Komponentenprüfung erscheint bei VNC die Taste "Register Dll". Beim Versuch dies auszuführen, erscheint die Fehlermeldung, dass diese Aktion ohne Administratorrechte nicht ausgeführt werden kann. Wenn ich aber ASG-RD als Administrator ausführen möchte, startet es gar nicht.
Was kann ich da tun?

ASG RD 2018 connection fail

Hello, I upgraded ASG RD to 2018 with SQL server 2016 in my company.
After upgrade, there are some users cannot connect to database environment.
The authorization is by AD group,  set in "Security Groups".
I have checked that user's AD account in "User account"
Could you give me a hand, how to trouble shooting this problem?

Is it ok for ASG RD 2018 install while 2012 not uninstalled

Hello, one user want to ask, if ASG RD 2018 can install on a server, while ASG RD 2012 not uninstalled.
Because this server is a production environment as Citrix terminal server, but without a test environment.
So user want to install ASG RD 2018, test if it works fine.
Then uninstall ASG RD 2012.
Could help to check if it's possible?

we are currently using ASG Remote 2016 with SQL Server and planning to update to version 2018. Can we update the database before? --> Is ASG 2016 (and 2017?) compatible with 2018 version of ASG database?

Freezups and not responding

We have been dealing with this since RD 2012 and now on RD 2018 its still an issue. I have about 20 users internally that use the software and we continue, randomly to get the White screen with (Not responding) that shows up, see attachment. The only way out of this is to end task on the process and relaunch until it happens again. Is there any rhyme or reason for this that anyone has found?

Are there any instructions to move from a File based environment to an SQL based environment, I have tried it but have lost all the connection credentials. The credentials and connection are there, but no credentials on the connections.

SQL database empty for 2 users out of three

We are having issues in the final stage of connecting a visionapp 2017 database to three windows authenticated users.
 
The database was created using vision app on my computer connecting to a 2014 SQL Express server running on a 2012 R2 Active Directory Domain server.
 
After the database was created (Empty) I then imported an rde file and it populated the database correctly with lots of Credentials and Connections. For my windows user (mcs\mark) using Windows Authentication it logs in everytime across the network without fault. Everything working and populated with credentials and connections.
 
I then went to the 2012 server, ran SQL Express Management studio and logged in a the administrator (also did this as user sa) as the SQL server was set up with mixed login. I added the two other windows users mcs\tech1 and mcs\tech2 and set them up with the same login and database permissions. Even made them sysadmins.
 
When I then connect from my same computer as them(tech1 or tech 2) (testing it on my computer first) it logs onto the database and instance and displays the headings (Credentials, Connections etc) but they are empty. No data in them)
If I close Vision app and log back in as me (mark) to the same database and instance, it is fully populated with data.
I have made sure that I have imported the license file into the other users computers.

Connecting when remote account pwd has expired

Running ASGRD 2018.

When I connect to a W2K2R2 server via RDP and the remote password has expired, I just get a white tab with the words "Disconnected" I have to close, it doesnt say the password is expired.
If I connect with an incorrect password I get the credential login wth authntication failed and I can retry.

I have searched the different logs but find no mention of the reason of not connecting (password expired). Could this be changed so it is visible what the error is?

ASG 2018 new install on Windows 2012 R2

I would like to install ASG 2018 fresh on a new Windows 2012 R2 server. Are there any roles or features that need to be enabled for a new install to work properly? Are there any pre-requisites that need to be installed from Microsoft like .NET or Windows installer. I have a current Windows 2008 server running ASG 2018 in database mode using authentication but it is slow and I want to retire it and build on Windows 2012 R2. I can export the  database configuration from the 2008 server and import it into the 2012 server. Let me know what steps I need to take for a successful clean installation of ASG 2018. Shy

ASG 2016 Update

Hallo, 

wir haben aktuell noch ASG2016 im Einsatz und würden gerne auf 2018 updaten. Gibt es dazu irgendwas zu beachten oder kann das Update einfach durchgeklickt werden? 

Wird die SQL Datenbank nach dem Update des Clients automatisch geupdatet oder muss das manuell durchgeführt werden? Und muss ASG2018 neu lizenziert werden oder kann der "alte" Key ebenfalls für 2018 verwendet werden?

ASG Remote Desktop 2018 and Azure DB

Hello,

I've trying te migrate from on premise SQL-db to Azure DB with ASG RemoteDesktop. So far database is in Azure, export from on prem to import in azure sql DB worked great (after updating ASG to 11.0.5924.0)

 Now i want to connect to the azure db with Azure Active Directory accounts. When i fill in my azure active directory account, it picks up "@domain.nl" as a SERVERname... what am i doing wrong ??

Authenticating from domain 'X' PC towards domain 'Y' Azure SQL

Hi, 

I have a small question that I was hoping you could assist with.

Here's the scenario as we see it:

We're considering creating an Azure SQL database on domain YYYY's Azure tenant, but on our local PC's are logged into domain XXXX.

We've tested with the following:
- Integrated Windows authentication (We did not expect this to work and it didn't)
- Reading over the Forums, we found that the suggestion is often to set up a Full Trust between the two domains, but that will NEVER be an option for us. 
- RunAs does not work either 

However, we are wondering if we can use Azure AD to authentication our users with?

Looking over some other tools, we've seen that it works with those. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Connection/Credentials import from Vision App Remote Desktop 2011 to ASG-RD 2018

The only visible option for import of connections into ASG-RD 2018 is from a file with extension .rde (or a .csv).
However the export format from Vision App Remote Desktop 2011 is .vre (or .vrb) or .csv. Any of these old formats, including the csv, is not working with ASG-RD 2018. Please advise how to import "old" 2011 type of connections and credentials (if possible) into the latest version of ASG-RD.

Offline Sync only sync connections

Hi, is it normal that the offline sync only syncs the connections?
Sometimes (not Always) only the connections tab is synced, and none of the other tabs.
 (see screenshot)
Is this a setting? or am I doing something wrong?
